Connecting to X-Plane

Air Apps such as AirEFB communicate with simulators using a TCP/IP network and the small piece of software installed in the sim called a plugin.

If you're having trouble connecting please take the following into account:

By default configuration is automatic using multicast. You need to have one network segment connecting your computer and your iDevices and this segment should also be the one which they use to connect to the Internet.

Make sure you allow multicast packets to flow (this is enabled by default in 99% of the routers so you shoudn't have to do anything).

If you have a firewall or anti-virus, make sure they allow traffic to flow freely. You may try disabling them if you're having connectivity problems and see if they are creating the problem.

The plugin and apps exchange information using UDP packets. AirEFB uses UDP port 2426. AirTrack uses 2424 and AirFMC users 2425. Hence you need to ensure that your firewall allows packets to go out to ports 2424, 2425 and 2426 and to come back from these if you use all the apps.

If auto-configuration fails you may configure the IP address of your iDevice manually in the Air Plugin. This will cause the simulator to initiate the connection without relying on multicast. Note down the IP address of your iPad or iPhone and enter it in the plugin settings.

If you still have trouble please contact us via the support page and we'll help you getting connected.
