Problem connecting iPad with X-Plane

Posted on November 13, 2020 20:49 by octojoe

Hi there,

In AirTrack, I cannot change settings (MCP/Comm, etc.) from my iPad to X-Plane. I can make changes on X-Plane that are reflected on my iPad.

From what I can see, this applies across all aircraft I have tested.

My plugin is v5.5.4, I have turned off my firewall on the PC and have also turned off any VPNs.

Any advice is much appreciated.

Thanks,

Paul

Hi Paul,

Sorry to hear that this isn't working :(

When you change a number in the MCP or COMMs panel and press SET, AirTrack sends a UDP packet to the computer/plugin with that information. The packet is sent form UDP port 2424 (of the iPad) to usually UDP port 59000 on the computer.

If you have a chance of running a packet analyser such as Wireshark on the interface you should see this packet from/to the corresponding IP addresses flowing. If you don't there's your problem as the packet is either being lost of blocked.

If you need help let me know via the Support page (https://haversine.com/support) and I'll email back and try and figure it out what could be causing.

hope this helps somehow,

Hey there,

I setup UDP port 59000 as an exception on my firewall and all appears to work now.

Thanks for the timely advice!
