Add Engine Display
Would it be possible to add an Engine Display to one of the future versions of Air Track ?
Absolutely stunning app by the way ...
Best regards,
Tom
Is on the ToDo list, so it will be done at some point, although I don't know when as there are still many things to implement. We'll see ...
Thanks for the request,
joao
This is a fantastic App and an absolutely amazing add-on for the serious virtual pilot but I have to add my vote to Tom's request.
I use a multi setup of Ios devices to fly, all of them running Air-track and the only thing missing in order to be able to fly without the cockpit view is the engine display.
I can't wait to see it implemented.
Thanks and keep the great job.
Jashin.
Great software can not wait until the engine display is build in.
Can we share foto's of build cockpit's here?
Glad you enjoy it :)
Engine display will take a while ... :( too much in front, we'll see ... But it is planned as an EICAS screen at some point.
Sure you can share fotos here. I'm not sure how the forums system will react, but it might prevent you from inserting HTML so perhaps only the link will be displayed. Feel free to try it and add/remove anything that does not appear right :)
Or you can also share them on our facebook page if you like.

Hello,
I bought this app yesterday and had my first flight on X-Plane 9 after a long time without flying. This app felt natural, althought it took me 10 minutes to remember were all the controls are. Someone mentioned to implement the MCP to the top level, which means to be able to select it whatever the screen you are in. I think this is a great idea because you constantly return to this window.
My second request (according to this thread) is to add an engine display panel. Yes, indeed this was the only info I needed not to see my airplane's cockpit. In the RC mode, it would also be great to add a throttle control (since we already have almost all motion controls)
Finally, and this might already be implemented without me knowing: I can't seem to figure out how the OBS dial works. Ok I can see there is a course 1 and course 2 dial in the autopilot section. Curse 1 would represent the OBS, but I can seem to see this number in my EFIS so it makes it hard to know what degrees the course 1 is set and how will I land on the upcoming runway.
Anyway, this is an amazing app. Many thanks to the developer!
Hi,
Glad you enjoy it :)
Thanks for the suggestions; will add them to the wish list.
As for the OBS, it works like this:
You set COURSE 1 or COURSE 2 in the MCP (or in X-Plane), with for example, a given VOR radial.
In the MFD you select NAV1 or NAV2 navigation source (for CRS1/OBS1 or CRS2/OBS2) by toggling its mode (default is NAV1), and you also need to set the MFD for APP or VOR mode (default is MAP). In this case the CRS dial will appear on the top right corner of the ND and the needle with the angle you dial will be displayed in the ND. If you're navigating towards a VOR this will also reflect on the way the radial is displayed from the VOR.
This is based on how the ND works in a Boeing 737-NG in reality, as well as its 2 COURSE dialers in the MCP.
enjoy the app,
joao.
I'm adding my support for an EICAS page.
This app is the best thing for flight sim enthusiasts since the invention of the joystick!
I think it will be great if we have 2 iPad
Any news if the MCP will be accessible from the top level beneath the dispay? That would save some nerves!
Bought Airtrack last night and what a fantastic app! Please add engine display.
Yes, definitely an Eicas page would be great!!! Please share a possible timeline for it... Greetings from an happy user and best wishes for 2013!!!!
Hello to you all!
It's been almost a year since I bought this app. I haven't been flying as much as I would like to. But I've been updating this app on my ipad and constantly checking it the EICAS page has been implemented...
So, I just wanted to know if the developer has a set milestone for implementing this feature or if this is something that unfortunately we won't be able to see?
Many thanks,
Nick.
Hi there,
The EICAS page is on the wish list but to be perfectly honest there is no milestone date set for it yet and I have no idea of when it will happen.
I'm the developer and unfortunately my time is limited and the fact that I'm working on other different apps at the same time doesn't help either :(
There are still many different things waiting to be added to AirTrack. I think the EICAS page and a moving map would be the ones most wanted, but unfortunatelly they are also the ones that require more work and time too.
The problem with the EICAS page is that it requires the communications protocol between the simulator and the app to be extended to support new kinds of information which is a big task per se as there is backwards compatibility to be kept, etc ... This will also involve having to upgrade the plugin, which will probably mean that it will be first implemented in X-Plane and then FSX support will again be dependent on its own plugin upgrade and on different planes having different datarefs etc ...
So all in all, a big thing... I don't know if or when we'll be able to see it. It is on the wish list though so when possible and time allows it I hope to be able to make it happen.
sorry for not having more positive news for now,
joao @ airtrack
Hi there,
i think EICAS support is still a wanted feature, although people may be silently waiting for it.
Just wanted to add a comment on it.
Best regards,
Domenico
I haven't gone through all the wish lists, but the request for EICAS seems to be one of the more substantial. I can only add to the accolades about what great apps these are. The x-plane community has been long needing these apps and I for one believe the EICAS would scratch a lot of itches. I'm sure most of us would be more than willing to pay for another app in this growing family of great apps!!
